Welcome to Infrastructure

Infrastructure plans, designs, and manages (in conjunction with other City operating departments) the rehabilitation and enhancement of the City's infrastructure and public facilities, including:

  • City buildings and park facilities
  • 155 miles of roadway
  • 8 miles of levees
  • 567 miles of pipelines
  • 64 pump stations
  • 12 water tanks with a 21-million gallon storage capacity
  • Over 13 miles of creeks, drainage ditches, and canals

The division also provides engineering plan review of private development projects and subdivisions.

In 2010 Engineering will:

  • Update the City's Engineering Standards
  • Implement Sanitary Sewer Master Plan projects
  • Prepare a Water Master Plan
  • Write a new Creek Bank Ordinance and submit to Council
  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the downtown parking facility operation
