works with a number of local business groups as we work together
to enhance our economic condition, bring new businesses
into our community, and help the existing businesses to
thrive – what’s good for business in Redwood
City, is good for the community of Redwood City.

Mateo County Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber’s mission is to promote the economic
prosperity of the community through business representation
and advocacy
with emphasis on information, communication and education.

Group
An association of businesses and stakeholders in the
Downtown to promote the area as an exciting destination.

Seaport Industrial
Association
A business association of industrial companies in connection
with the Port of Redwood City committed to enhancing
the business environment at the Port.

San Mateo County Conventions and Visitors Bureau
The San Mateo County CVB is a full-service Bureau, offering
convention site selection, official San Mateo County
publications and maps, site inspection arrangements,
local supplier contact
information, suggestions on things to do and see in the
area, and photographs.

SBA’s website provides a free Northern California
Small Business Start-Up Kit containing lots of information
about
starting, financing, managing, and business opportunities.

College Small Business Development Center
Located in downtown Redwood City, this organization provides
an outreach program to inform the business community
about free business counseling, mentor program, low-cost
seminars
and other services. The Center provides up to date, well
equipped and staffed Business Resource Center that meets
the needs of present and future business owners, entrepreneurs.

Valley Small Business Development Center (SVSBDC)
Located in San Jose, SVSBDC is a small business assistance
organization that delivers free or low cost up-to-date
training and technical assistance in all aspects of
small business
management to cities in South San Mateo and North Santa
Clara Counties. The SBDC services include, but are
not limited
to, assisting small businesses with financial, marketing,
production, organization, engineering and technical problems,
and feasibility studies.

Retired Executives (SCORE)
SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is
a source of free and confidential small business advice to
help you build your business—from idea to start-up
to success. The SCORE Association, headquartered in Washington,
D.C., is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial
education and the formation, growth and success of small
businesses nationwide.
SCORE’s extensive, national
network of 10,500 retired and working volunteers provide
free business
counseling
and advice as a public service to all types of businesses,
in
all stages of development

Redwood City Public Library Small Business Section
Centrally located in Redwood City, the Redwood City
Public Library’s Small Business Section is
an indispensable resource for current small business
owners or those interested
in starting a small business. Hundreds of print and
electronic resources are available, from current
and archived trade
magazines to direct marketing resources.
