Spanish Immersion Lil Learners Preschool
Second language learning is known to have significant cognitive and social benefits for children, and the preschool years are when children learn naturally and quickly in the right environment. Children who will be four years old by Dec. 2 are eligible to enroll in our new Spanish Immersion Preschool class on Mon/Wed/Fri afternoons at Red Morton Center. There is also a Tues/Thurs option for children that are three by September 2. Whether your children are new to Spanish or have begun learning in a home or care setting, they will be supported as they play and learn in this class. See registration details in the online Fall Activities Guide or in your hardcopy being mailed Aug. 13. Call 780-7311 for more info.

This session will be conducted in English with translation available for Spanish speakers. For more information, call Naomi Hunter at 423-2282. Kindergarten has changed since you were in school, and this
is your chance for a preview of what your child will experience during his first year of school. A team of kindergarten teachers will describe what the first few days of kindergarten are like, what your child will learn during the year, and how you can prepare them for school. You will have a chance to ask questions of the teachers, Ms. McRae and Dr. Baker. Dr. Baker will review procedures for registering your child in
the Redwood City School District. This year’s event is being hosted by the Redwood City Mother’s Club.
